Chinese Medicine has  one method of treating cancer called Toxic Purge Fire.     Cancers weaken the host by secreting toxic substance to weaken and eventually killing the host.   Toxic Purge Fire simply means fighting fire with fire.   It means the (Poisoner -Cancer) is eliminated also by poison.   In fact most chemotherapy are actually Poison substances only the medical Profession does not call it that.

However toxic substances will also weaken the hosst.  There is a way of fixing this problem.   It is by administering the dose at a level below the toxic dose.   This way the host can be given this remedy long term.

 I.  Cancer Herbs - Of all the Cancer Alternative Remedies, Herb or Herb Combinations is the option most often chosen by patients for treatment.

What qualities make a successful Cancer Herb formula?
1.) The formula must include herbs that are STRONG INHIBITORS of cancer cells. Many herb formulas slow  cancer growth without killing the cancer. Strongly inhibiting the cancer will more likely cause  APOPTOSIS -meaning Programmed Cell Death.

2.) PAIN - a good formula must alleviate cancer pain.

3.) SAFETY -The dose must be Non-Toxic and can be taken for long term use.

4.) SYNERGY - where 2 or more drugs work together - extends farther in healing.  An herb combination is superior therapy compared to one ingredient.

 

STRONG INHIBITORS  -Cancer has its weak spot/Achilles Heel.  When normal cells & cancer cells are subjected to Strong Inhibiting Drugs, cancer cells die at doses where normal cells remain alive.

Aconitum – this herb is one of the ingredients in Turska formula for cancer which is available from Naturopathic pharmacies in the U.S.  We use the Chinese variety which is treated first with salt and later vinegar and is milder than the Western variety. The herb Aconitum is recognized today by Germany as effective for brain conditions such as neuralgia.  Aconitum has been in use in China for over a thousand years. 

 

 

 

   

            

          Chinese Dioscorea

Dioscorea  - belongs under Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Dioscorea herb's active principle is a terpene compound 'Diasbulbin ' which is a 3furanoside norditerpene and the herb also has active saponins.  It is active against cancers and tumors in general.

 

 

                 

             Podophyllum peltatum

 

 Podophyllum peltatum – herb found in North America and have been used by Indians for various cancers. Podophyllum's  active ingredient belongs to a class of anticancer drugs called Topoisomerase inhibitors which control DNA chromosomes and as a result, cancers are impaired in cell  growth and synthesis of protein.  Podophyllum is the source of 2  semi-synthetic derivatives – Tenoposide and Etoposide which are good medicine and  still in use in chemotherapy today. This herb is included in Naturopathic formulas such as Fraxinus/Ceonothus Compound and Scudder’s Alterative for various cancers.  There is no substitute for this herb. 

            

 

 

                  

          Chinese Arisaema

 

Arisaema  - is treated first to make it safe for use.

Arisaema is good at inhibiting cancer cell processes- not only is it good against cancer, it is an important ingredient in formulas for relieving the pain that is associated with cancer in general.  When the cancer state  goes into advanced stages, cancer patients look for medicines that work against the pain.  There are not many herbs that relieve pain and inhibit cancer together.

 

  

                        

                  

                Orris Herb 

 

 Orris root – belongs under Western herbs.  It is one of the ingredients in Compounded Echinacea/Red Root Formula for tumors and cancers. Orris root inhibits cancer growth and proliferation.  Adding orris root to the formula makes the combination a more effective medicine.

 

                                   

                                                     

Chinese Veratrum

 

Chinese Veratrum  -  is related to the Hellebore plants.   All Veratrum family plants have powerful active ingredients.    In fact,  some of these are too powerful, they are not fit as medicine.   However, the Chinese variety is a milder form and is useful as a medicinal herb.

It has been used for head conditions and affects the heart rate, respiration, striated muscle and has some use against tumors and cancer.

 

The above formula is effective for most Cancers including Lung Cancer, Stomach Cancer, Breast Cancer, Brain Cancer, Liver Cancer, Spinal Cord Cancer, Intestinal Cancer including Rectal and Colon Cancer, Uterine Cancer, Leukemia, Lymphomas, Uterine Fibroids, Esophageal Cancer, Prostate  Cancer  and Thyroid Cancer.    

 



HSP70

 HSP70 is Heat Shock Protein 70  found in normals cells making about 2% of cell content. 

The Journal article - Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences 926:122-125 (2000) states that

when cancers are subjected to stress including Chemotherapy and cancer killing drugs, they produce higher levels of hsp70 which sets in motion their cellular processes to accelerate use of energy and more protein production.  Hsp70 is capable of preventing apoptosis(cell death) in malignant cells and is responsible for the many failures with chemo & other cancer treatments.

 

I can add Camptotheca acuminata ( Herb) which can decrease hsp70 in cancers, however, camptothecin, the active principle has a disadvantage because it depresses bone marrow and therefore impractical for long term therapy.

Fortunately, there are other drugs that will work and that is QUERCETIN.

Quercetin is the missing ingredient in my formula.  Its daily dose for a 130 - 150 lb. individual is between 1000 to 1200 mg./day.   Those folks who are not following a strict vegetarian diet are advised to increase the quercetin dose.     Quercetin is a safe drug and available from health food stores
